Auld....LOL. You're amusing to say the least.
Again you bring up Oronbus. I simply asked what YOUR qualifications are. Basically you are telling me you've watched a lot of CSI, LA LAW reruns, and read detective novels. LOL.
I looked at your posting history....you've made about 50 or more posts on this "big news" pontificating away on how this is going to change the world. While you dismiss having "titles" at the end of one's name, you need those "titles" to actually practice law. You know....something Oronbus has and you do not, therefore, his LEGAL opinion carries weight whereas your's are worthless. You can type away until you are blue in the face....which given the length of your rants....I assume is close to the truth right now. So all your "certainty" in law as you have been yammering away on, is all for naught. Mental masturbation of a musing ex-JW. So all your rants mean NOTHING. NOTHING has changed. Get back to me when it has, and THEN we'll discuss how BIG this news is. Hey Auld....pssst.....let's leave the law to those who actually can practise. LOL.
What time is it? Isn't CSI Miami on soon?

Journal of Church and State: WT NO-BLOOD EXPOSE'
by AndersonsInfo in(baylor university, waco, tx) an essay entitled, "jehovah's witnesses, blood transfusions, and the tort of misrepresentation," found in the autumn issue of baylor universitys prestigious journal of church and state, published december 13, 2005, exposes the vulnerability of jehovahs witnesses religious organization to massive claims for compensation because of the religions misrepresentation of the medical risks of blood transfusions.
this milestone essay critically examines one of the religions main publications for teaching their children and new recruits about their blood beliefs, how can blood save your life?
the peer-reviewed essay details many misrepresentations of medical facts, which the religion partly relies on to support its blood prohibition, thus denying its members from making fully informed medical decisions.

LOL - and overwhelming evidence convicted OJ Simpson too. NOT.
Auld....I asked you on a different thread, whereby you did not answer my question. You have hammered away, over and over again about legal certainty, how the law should be applied, how a judge will interpret this, what this means, etc.... Yet you should know there is no such thing as legal certainty. It really does boil down to what a judge says....and possibly what a jury might think. You have poo poo'ed the attorneys that have actually commented on this. Specifically you disagreed with Oronbus.....a BAR admitted lawyer. What are your credentials? Have you attended law school? Did you graduate? Are you a member of the BAR? Since you are represeting yourself as an expert I think it only fair to know your credentials.
I've had a trial attorney that is a friend of mine that is certified to litigate within the federal courts look at this. He said it "was an interesting theory" and it is "next to impossible to know what a judge would say about this application". His original impression was "this is by no means a silver bullet". He did say that this information "probably would strengthen a good case already" however.
So Auld.....what are your credentials? -

Really GOOD NEWS for TED JARACZ
by imfreeimfree infor a while after barbara informed us of the upcoming article and by extension the wbts, ill bet ted jaracz was seriously worried.
he would have been very concerned that for once the whole ex-jw community would unite and support barbara.
had that happened there would have been thousands actively planning and working to advertise the well researched, peer reviewed article from the baylor university.

Auld...I actually DID read it. All 38 pages of it. But lawyers WILL SHRED it. Doesn't matter if I can shred it or you can shred it. Don't kid yourself. It's what lawyers do everyday.
You keep yammering away with absolute certainty about what will be seen, what is shown, what legal codes it violates. If you knew anything about the law, you would know there are no SURE THINGS when it comes to law. It truly is up to the judge, and in some cases juries. Please tell me which legal precedents and case histories you are basing your comments on. What exactly are your credentials to be voicing such certaintude? I notice that you liked to shoot down what an attorney with a law degree and a member of the BAR had to say. Do you have your law degree? Are you a member of the BAR?
As I've said before, just because you hope and wish and pray this is something big....until a JUDGE rules on it, it means nothing. So excuse me if I don't go into apoplectic shock over the mental masturbation you are engaging in. Your spittle from your raging rants is getting on my glasses, can you bring it down 118 notches? Thanks. -

Imfree....can you be ANY more melodramatic? Puleeze.
So some folks here voiced their disappointment with the hype of this "big news", and holding someone accountable for their words. Big deal. Apparently you haven't yet learned that dissent is actually ok. We as ex-JW's don't have to mindlessly follow "mothers" lead. Or would you rather have us plaster on that fake smile, smarmy personality, and thinned vaneer enthusiasm for this "big turd". Perhaps you haven't taken Kingdumb Hall tendancies out of yourself yet. LOL. Sorry, been there, done that.
You don't think the WTBS is going to shred that paper's credibility to pieces immediately? LOL It's what lawyers do. Right, wrong or indifferent. By folks here pointing out issues with the paper will only help whatever legal team uses it. Also, "lending support" to the WTBS....LOL....a few typed words on an apostate web site, in the ether of the internet...yeah...that's real support for the WTBS. I suggest you look around you and take a reality check. -

GET REAL PEOPLE !!
by Simon indo some of you expect?!?!.
i am extremely disappointed to read some people's comments about the latest news.
it is one thing to express and opinion, perhaps that you think it isn't as big as you imagined (one wonders what you imagined) but it is another to be downright insulting to people who have put a lot of time and effort into this.. get real.

Yes, how dare anyone question the Apostate Faithful and Discreet Slave class. Don't you realize how great and magnificent this food is? Because all "BIG NEWS" needs to be hyped and then later explained as to it's full import. Perhaps you are merely disappointed because people don't appreciate being all lathered up saying something was Time or Newsweek magazine news worthy and handed this turd.
Until a JUDGE, let me repeat that a JUDGE rules on this...it is only speculation and legal theory. It is an interesting theory to be sure....although my buddy a long time trial attorney scoffed at this earlier today. The full import will take 10 years to be felt....thank you but my JW parents will most likely be dead by then. So I'll keep hammering away at them, and merely use this as one of 20 other examples of how their religion lied.
I find it amusing everyone jumping on the "end of the WTBS" bandwagon given this Baptist University's press release. How bout ya read it first? LOL. Makes you look silly pontificating on how it means the end of the WTBS when you haven't read all 38 pages, done any research on it, or verified it veracity, much less had it subjected to legal challenge. Just because one hates the WTBS doesn't automatically make the critical paper true. Today, after this "BIG NEWS" nothing has changed. No hospital rules have been changed, no laws have been changed, no protocols have been changed. So why don't we wait JUST A SMIDGE longer before getting ourselves all in ecstacy over the BIG NEWS of this SMALL ANNOUNCEMENT.
As JW's we listened intently to "mother" for any small slice of "new light".....how pathetic is it that some still hold to now hearing any shread of anything about "new apostate light" like attention starved 8 year olds? I guess you can't take the Kingdumb Hall out of some Ex-JW's, thus proving my thread from a couple of days ago. Their new religion is Anti-Jehovah Witness'ism. -

Beginning to not care... again
by daystar inbefore i created an account here on jwd, i was in a place where i really didn't care about the jw religion any more.
i didn't know or care to know about any of the "scandals".
i'd heard about the un/ngo issue and it raised my eyebrows.

LOL. Don't hold your breath.
More than likely a legal team would use this in an on-going, current litigation. To file a new lawsuit now means a court date in 2009, 2010, or as long as 2012 depending on jurisdiction.....then the appeal process will take another couple of years.
Don't kid yourself, this is no magic bullet.....just another avenue to try and get money from the WTBS....assuming they have any money you can actually get at. Say it with me....."Shell corporation". -

Mastadon...you kinda have to hodge podge it to get Mac's to work. You will need IE for Mac, in addition to Safari.
You will need to go a send PM window open to the person you want to PM in Safari....then copy and paste that address over into the IE address window. Type your message and then hit submit. This site won't encode PM's or edit's correctly using Safari. This also works with editing.....open your edit post window with the editing info shown, copy and paste address window into IE...then you are free to make changes.
Is it a pain in the bum...you bet. But....if need be that's the only way you can get it to work. -

THE NEWS IS BIGGER THAN DATELINE, BBC, CBC, ETC.
by AndersonsInfo inif i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!
